One of the most important aspects of life is eating...eating what, well that's a completely different story, (especially if you live up on the Mount!!)When i first visited Syracuse University, my parents and I ate in the dining hall to get a "feel" for the food. At the time the food wasn't that horrible, so I figured I was pretty safe, and would never go hungry. Boy was I wrong...As soon as I got up here, I had realized by my first meal at Graham that this wasn't going to be an easy year. The dining hall offers a great variety of foods daily, too bad it's the same variety everyday!! They offer a salad bar, a deli counter, a Grill area, vegan/vegetarian meals (aka:slop), and a main-course. The food is very disgusting on the first hand, and the fact that they serve the same stuff every night really doesn't help!! Also, the food service is not very clean...the counter is always full of "leftovers" from people's messy habits, and drips of sauce. The salad bar is full of rotten brown lettuce, wet carrots, and salad dressings with every other flavor mixed in from spillage. The silverware is always full of crust and nasty stuff, also the plates and cups are dirty. I am very surprised that this place passed health inspections!! My advice to everyone would be to avoid Graham Dining Hall if you can!! Stock your fridges with plenty of food, and fruit/veggies, and milk etc.!!

Syracuse University's Campus is the picturesque collegiate campus, with wide busy Quad, distinctive architecture, and ivy covered buildings. The buildings and campus grounds are well kept and Syracuse, at first glance, seemed to me to be a perfect mix of what I was looking at in a college experience. When I visited the campus, I found the people to be helpful, friendly, and there seemed to be an abundance of activities to participate in. There were Frat parties at all hours, and the sidewalk chalkings on the lawn denoted various activities that were open for participation. After starting my college experience here just a few months ago, my opinions of the people and campus life drastically changed. I had once thought that the people were helpful and even friendly, but as I started meeting more and more people, I found a large trend. Nearly everyone that I met was stuck-up, snotty, or downright rude. I found that there was a trend in this attitude in most all of my classes, but the attitude spread over into the people I met at parties, and in my residence hall. During my time at Syracuse, I have participated in many activities, to get the full college experience. I like most every aspect of the university's campus, except the people. Syracuse University is located on a series of hills, so no matter where you go, you encounter hills. Most Freshman students live on "the mount" Mt. Olympus. There are 123 stairs that separate "the mount" from the main campus. Most other residence halls located on the main campus also require stairs to get to. On a more positive note, this might prevent the infamous "freshman 15". If you don't mind mounting stairs wherever you go, the campus is a delight. All your classes are most likely located on the quad. The residence halls surround the quad in all directions, which make it possible for everyone to easily access their classes. Scattered all over the campus are Blue Lights. This is for heightened security. One touch of a blue light and Campus Security is on their way. If by chance that there is no blue light in easy range, there is a very big chance that there are campus security members patrolling. The campus security definitely have a presence on campus, and this makes all faculty and students feel more safe. As if you didn't feel safe enough, there is an escort service on campus, if you don't want to walk the dark empty campus late at night. Within a few minutes, an escort will be glad to help you get to where you need to go. This service is hassle free, and free. The Syracuse University campus is not located in the center of Syracuse the city. The bus service is good, and you can effortlessly get to Armory Square, the mall, or any other given destination.

The buildings on the campus range in age and in appearance. The Hall of Languages is the most distinctive building on campus, and is categorized by the Addams Family look. This building was built during the 1800's. Other buildings on campus were built quite recently. The Maxwell school of citizenship as well as Eggers hall are very new, and were built during the last 10 years. The campus overall is very beautiful, and definitely has the collegiate feel to it.
