Waiting...and Waiting...and Waiting Some More 2/6/2001

Sorry guys, I tend to be a little over-dramatic; I think it's from hanging out with drama people way too long. Anyway, as for college; I'm convinced they set up this entire prolonged admissions process scheme to torture me. I mean, why the hell do they need three or four months to decide if they want me?? That's a form of mental torure! You spend most of senior year, if you apply regular decision, wondering if your school wants you or not. It ruins your entire senior year and I don't think that's fair! It should last a week instead. I send the application in, they look it over, and they send it back within a week. I can find out what's going on a lot sooner and they have one less application to look over. They should hire more people to the admissions staff to speed along the admissions process. See? I'm also helping the economy by creating more jobs.;O)

No-one really understands how much I want to go to University of Rochester. Most of my friends don't care where they go to school, and the ones that do have two or three schools they'd like to go to. I applied to seven, but UR is really the only one I'm interested in...Sure I can transfer in after first semester if I don't get in, but there's several problems with that. First, It's not guaranteed that they'll accept me even if I'm a transfer, and second; I just missed out on freshman year. I'll be so busy with the admissions process (I barely retained my sanity the first time I went through the process) that by the time I get into UR, if I got in, half the year would be over, and everyone would have made their group of friends. It has a 93% retention rate plus its a small school so friends and cliches are made quickly. Uuuugghhhh. There are some days I feel like there's no way they can reject me and then there are days I feel almost positive I'll be rejected. UR wants a 1240 on the SAT's and I have only an 1170, plus I have two spelling errors on the stupid application. I'm trying to decide which is worse: waiting for the decision, or knowing?

Until next time
