Shallow and Naked

Stripped of your beauty
Left for all to see.
The true you unveiled
And scattered in the breeze.

Hopeless and waiting
For your attempt at resurrection;
I’m watching you flounder
At the sight of your reflection.

Your shallow grave
Opened only by you,
Shows your shallow soul
Shaded black and blue.

When the waters rise
And take you in –
I’ll still be watching
From ‘round the bend.
