Walls Around

Looking for you tonight
Wondering if you’re alright;
Slipping past sleep in you
Sitting here, watching over you.

Asleep in self;
You breathe your wealth
And rest blissfully awaiting
Your soul’s awakening.

Behind the walls of youth
You hide.
Friskily stashing away secrets –
You confide.

From yourself and through to me
I’ll await ever softly
For the moment when you realize I’m there
And that I’m truly the one who cares.
