I stare
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stare into the cold winter night,
And watch Christmas lights in a sorrowful delight.
Sadness is upon me in a time of gloom.
    I stare.
In bed under the stars,
The one for whom I love peering through mind-locked bars.
Mind-locked in a mental room.
    I stare.
I watch feelings float away,
When the presence of her mind is near.
I sit in dismay.
    I stare.
I care for her with my heart,
I’m alive with her sweetness - not her tart.
I am not brave.
    I stare.
I sit in the cold,
Not feeling its bitter bite.
Waiting.
    I stare.
Feeling sad and unhappy,
Unpleasant and sappy.
Debating my life.
    I stare.
So Christmas is a feeling of caring
Happiness and joy.
Like the cold silver herring.
    I stare.
The feeling of her love
Warms my cold spirit.
Thanking her caring presence in the cold night air.
    I stare.
