Alone in Heart

I. am. alone.
Alone in Heart.
When it stops beating,
I’ll be alone again.
Along a narrow line I’m fleeing;
As I will not ever be full again.
When my heart is full,
I know I won’t be bleeding –
Bleeding from a heart that’s cruel.
My heart is pure from inside out;
I feel from within.
Alone I sit without a doubt.
Without a single friend.

I. am. alone.
Can’t you see my reaching out?
Can’t you see what brings me about
When bright skies turn grey?
Soft, subtle eyes catch my view
In the light of a waning day.

I am alone. Alone.
