Not last night but the night before, I envisioned her. Toddler her. Im not sure that I was fully sleeping, it may have been in the moments before sleep hits. She was so sweet to see. Wispy light brown hair, longer than her sister’s was at that age. Not as blonde as her brother. The only one of my three to get my blue eyes. She was fairer skinned, like Orion. The image was only for a split second, but I needed it. Amidst the sadness that surrounds her not being here, I felt a calm in seeing her. Maybe a bittersweet reality. I dont know.
Ivy Bear arrives tomorrow.

what a gift. it makes me hurt in deep motherly places to think of it. but a beautiful hurt? i don't know if that makes sense.
