I can't believe I am turning 50 years old on Saturday. I don't feel so different from the young woman who graduated high school in 1982! I am constantly amazed at how fast the world turns, and how time is so fleeting!
My best friend Dawn (who is also an Aquarian, and 55) and I are having our final Tater Tot Buffet birthday party next weekend. We've been having them annually since she turned 40. 50 and 55 seems like a good time to stop. Maybe we will just have a big gathering every five years from now on.
I have Friday off for my annual exam (where my doctor will be pleased that I did lose the 20 pounds I promised her 6 months ago), and then Nils is taking a half day off so we can go to Fogo D'Chau for our valentines meal. I don't think anyone has anything planned for this Saturday, my actual birthday, but of course a small part of me hopes that maybe, just maybe, my children will drop by. It's really all that it takes to make me happy.
I've been fighting a cold for a week. For the most part, I'm winning the fight, I have continued to be able to breathe, and stopped it from settling in my chest, but I'm so tired. Any my eyes look like I'm stoned or something. Hope it turns the corner soon so I'm feeling well for my Friday doctor appointment. Nothing worse than fasting for your blood work, than doing so when you already feel bad and really NEED that coffee!
