If You Could Write A “POSITIVE” Note To Your Younger Self, What Would You Say?
1) Try to describe, in “POSITIVE WORDS,” what you would say to or advise your “YOUNGER SELF.”
(The length of the response is up to you. It’s ok to post again, if you left out words that you hoped to convey
before.) This is Not a contest, so do not feel you must compete with the reply of others. Just share your
own unique and honest words.

Dear younger me,

I’m going to give it to you straight. Things are always going to be tough for you. You don’t think like other people, you don’t act like other people, and you don’t want to look like other people.

But here’s the kicker. IT’S OKAY TO BE LIKE THAT! Be you! Be strange and unusual. You are your most happy when you are being you.

I know that it just seems easier to do what others expect you do to. Dress like them, listen to the same music (By the way, it’s okay to listen to Duran Duran then flip the album to Metallica) get the same damn haircut as everyone else. Don’t do it! You’re going to have a few good friends that think that the purple Cindi Lauper cut is awesome. And would you believe that there will be a group of girls that follow you around wanting to know how the hell you did your weird makeup designs? No joke! But then lol because they looked like you you change your look again.

Sad thing is, all that physical pain you have? It’s not going to go away. It’s going to get worse as you get older. Don’t let people tell you “it’s all in your head” “you’re lazy” and all that crap. It’s real. Again, there is a bright side. You’ll be really good at your job in healthcare. You can empathize with the patients, and that is a wonderful thing. And you’ll make even more friends (albeit online) that have the same problems that you have and the support they give is awesome because they understand.

Even though your brain is messy at best, you will be so creative because of it! Poetry, coloring your dresser until it looks totally psychedelic, Short stories… Sorry though, even when you get older you still won’t be able to draw a stick figure, but there’s this thing called “adult coloring” that you’ll be pretty awesome at.

Your messy brain will get you in trouble, but again, it will make you stronger at the same time. Just try not to let the drugs that the doctors give you totally kill your creativity. Try to pull that fucker to the surface.

You might lose the real you for a while, but I promise, You’ll find yourself again.

Love,
Me
