I have been a little crazy with wedding stuff lately and have been slacking with updates. Oh, also, I spent 1/2 of last week on the phone with DirecTV....they are AWFUL.
Here is the long and short of DirecTV. We agreed to a verbal 2 year contract with them including 150 channels, on demand...blah blah blah. The guy came last Sunday to set up the satellite....was here for 6 hours. 6. Thats the entire day! We did not end up getting on Demand which is what we usually watch. We arent home and arent good about sitting down to watch things at a certain time. The internet that we signed up for also did not work. We followed the steps and got nothing. So, we called to fix it and they said we could get on demand for $25 extra a month....NO THANKS! We already verbally agreed to it with our other contract. And, to send a technician out to fix the internet...they work Monday-Friday 8-5.....um, me too! Not taking a day off for them to come fix the internet. Anyways, hours on the phone trying to figure this out, they put me on hold at one point for 40 mins. It was just awful. Finally Wednesday night my bitch came out. I called and said, this is insane. We switched to you guys to save money and you lied about our contract. Nothing is working as it should and I have spent 4 hours on the phone trying to get it sorted out. I want to cancel the service. Come pick your shit up and leave me alone. They kept me on the phone for almost 1 1/2 hours (until 10:45) trying to give me different options, work things out, keep me. I ended up screaming at the manager....They are impossible. Then they told me that they have an early cancellation fee of $480. I said, great, but I never got what was in the contract so I am not paying for anything. This was another long fight. I ended up telling them that I was going to contact the Better business bureau (which I did) and cancel my debit card so they were not able to charge me (they take your debit info at sign on to charge you $1 for installation). I also did that. I ended up calling back in the morning and waiting 25 minutes talked to a manager. I told him the situation and that I had already contacted the BBB and cancelled my credit card but I was wondering if there was anything I could do. After another fight he ended up filing it under some kind of grievance and waving the fee. So thankful to be done with them and I will never do business with DirecTV again...EVER!
In other news, I have gotten so much wedding stuff done this week. I figured out all of the entrance songs, the mother daughter and father daughter songs, tables, food choices, order of things, set up of the room. I got baskets to put the stuff in the bathrooms (ya know, deodorant, sewing kit, tampons, static guard, all that fun stuff). We are in pretty good shape right now. I went to Connecticut on Friday night and we got a bunch of stuff situated. I am really excited. I also ordered the groomsmens gifts. I got them all beer sampler sets. So they guys have that wooden paddle that holds 4 small beer glasses. They are engraved. Then I got Adrian a leather travel bag. Ya know the ones that guys have that they put their razor and deodorant in? Yeah, one of those. It says his name and the wedding date on it. I already had the little ones figured out and now I just have to get something for Lily. I am thrilled to have gotten so much done! After spending the day with my Mom I went to my sisters house. She had a couple of neighbors over for a cookout so we just hung out. Her neighbor Sabrina is soooo freaking funny. We just laugh all night. They have wine and dance and sing. Its great. I didnt end up getting home until after 11.
In baby news, I really popped this week. There is really no hiding that baby belly anymore. I still fit in to a lot of my normal shirts, pants are getting pretty uncomfortable. Even with the band and the pants unbuttoned, they just dont look that great! I feel baby kicking around a lot these days. Actually on my ride to Connecticut on Friday night the baby gave me a swift kick to the bladder and I thought I was going to pee myself. Awesome! I even had to stop at the rest stop which I NEVER do for a 2 hour ride! Baby is the size of an eggplant and apparently about 2 lbs right now. My next appt for the baby is I think the 29th....I have to do my glucose test that day too. Fingers crossed that that goes well. I have been monitoring my blood pressure since i have a tendency to have high blood pressure. I check it every couple of days at the stop and shop down the street. They have one of the machines and the pharmacist told me that it should be pretty accurate. It is usually highest when I first sit down 130/80ish which is what it has been at the doctors. Then it drops once I sit for a minute and its been between 117-124/74-80. So its looking good. I have a log in my phone. Alright, I think thats enough for now. Maybe pics in the next entry!
