Very well written! Sometimes we have to pull back and look at our family's people, not relatives. Then we need to ask ourselves... would we normally associate with such people if we met them wherever and they weren't "family?" If the answer is no, then perhaps you should avoid that family altogether. I just don't think any toxic people should be in our lives that can't accept us as we are, family or not. It can only be detrimental to our existence. Blood isn't a ticket to judge or condemn ones for being who they are. Love is never wrong so long as it's consensual and the people are of age. Just something to keep in mind. :-)
