The weekend before.... in In the Kingdom of Suzu

We leave for Barbuda next Saturday so this is the weekend to get a lot done. My clothes are all set aside and most of the books I plan to read. I always leave the books behind so it does make it a bit difficult choosing books that I don’t want to keep. I am going to get the Princesses L and M around lunch to help me clean the house as my knees have been giving me a lot of trouble----it has been damp the last couple of days so that doesn’t help.

Jeff was supposed to play tonight but the place double booked and even tho they were booked first, a bigger name won the spot. They are booked to play next Friday night tho and then we leave Saturday morning—Yikes! Not sure if I will go or not, depends on what last minute things must still be done.

Shake up at work and my direct supervisor will probably move up to a higher position. Her job will then open up but I am not planning on applying. First, it would mean I would have to be in the office most of the time, second I still really like going to court and third, I don’t think I would get it (politics). I also will be retiring in a little more than 2 years, would like to leave a little sooner but since I still have on-going health issues that will require hospitalization, I would be foolish to leave and pay for my own health care as what I pay with the county matching is at least half of what I would pay if I had to get my own.

Last, but not least, the Craig’s list piano transaction was successfully completed, the piano was moved to my daughter’s house, tuned, pedals polished up and the piano guy told my daughter it was easily worth $1200! Princess L has been playing it almost non-stop!

YAY for successful piano purchase! But boooo that your knees are still giving you trouble. Hopefully the tropical sun will help the healing.

Awe, it's Barbuda time. :) You are so lucky to go there as I've viewed photos and it's beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! I'm glad you are going to have some help with housework. And I agree, it would be best for you to continue working until you become Medicare eligible. Once that happens, you will have many choices but for now stay put. That's my unasked for advice. Smiles.
