I was in a support group for moms that have clubbed footed kids. A mother asked if she should have an amniocentesis to see if there were other problems with her baby. I wrote…my child has clubbed feet from an amnio. Of course I got comments back that said impossible and how??
I went on to say, it ruptured my fluid and that it put him in grave danger and that the low fluid caused the Clubbed feet.

She writes back she thinks its a myth that the babies would get that cramped and that he doesn’t have true clubbed feet but positional and that the treatment is totally different and they don’t need to be treated.

There’s a BIG ASS WTF!!!

I was pissed when I wrote back....Ummm among other things Low amniotic fluid does cause clubbed feet. Look it up. Genetic or Positional Clubbed feet are treated the SAME not different. I went through castings, bnb for 23/7 and he had surgery. How is that not the same. Is there some magical treatment I’m missing for positional? That I didn’t appreciate her beliefs and that those comments hurt.

I unjoined the group....

I’m feeling sad…I feel horrible as it is with all that happened to him. I also joined the Pprom Parents group and they have been great. We are rock stars and no remarks like…oh you ruptured from an amniocentesis…you don’t know what a real rupture means.

Couple days ealier I posted pictures of babycakes feet… They still upset me. The toes turn in as if he’s clawing the ground. They have a well know doctor that stalks the page and helps when he can . I uploaded pictures to him. He thinks he has relapsed but can’t say for sure. He is several states away… We go to babycakes doctor on Friday and will tell him my concerns.

But right now I am letting those comments of the one member consume me more than I should. She’s no doctor.... The other thing is that the people were obsessed before the baby was born about their clubbed feet. I wish I could have been that concerned and its hard to feel bad they got the diagnosis…

I prayed that was the “only” diagnosis…It wasn’t, oh does he have something else? It was please stop adding to his laundry list of things that are going wrong..
