Updates on Various in These Foolish Things

  1. I sent an email to my boss last week with the title “Updates on Various”. I thought it was funny. He had zero clue. He’s on a vacation to Ireland and Scotland, yet he’s still emailing during his vacation. I guess he loses. Even though I took a vacation day on Friday to go on this interview, I still checked in occasionally - but I stopped after noon-ish because (A) I was taking a vacation day, and (B) fuck that shit. If he wants to ruin his own vacation, that’s on him.

  2. The Interview was on Friday, and though my flight to California was delayed a bit, the interview could not have gone better. According to Fred, I completely crushed it - and I knew it, too. Thing is, I’m a perfect candidate for this company, and maybe it will lead to something…I just may have to do some fancy footwork to make this into something that will benefit both parties. I think they want someone there (in CA), and as much as I love the West Coast, I don’t want to move to this city. It’s not one of the sexier West Coast cities, let’s just put it that way.

  3. The man who owns the company I interviewed with is a pretty amazing guy, and I’m kind of fascinated by him, his wife and their kids as well as the ranch where they live. Of course, the man is very wealthy, but they’ve made themselves something of a zoo on these hundreds of acres in the California foothills. Driving up into the hills and up the winding driveway to the mansion on the ranch, you’ll see sheep and donkeys and emus and lamas…and then ZEBRAS and boar and chickens and snakes and on and on and on. It was an incredible experience and I’m so glad that I went. I believe that they liked me as we stayed kind of late and drank lots of wine and in the end we watched some home movies in the family theater room! Wild, I tell you.

  4. Of course, Fred made me crazy inside my own head. I kept it all in, and we had some good laughs, but I do not want to work FOR this guy in any capacity. I could probably work in conjunction with him, but believe me, too much Fred is not a good thing.

  5. Diet has been sidetracked again for a couple of days as I’ve needed some wine and it was worth it.

  6. Next steps on my to-dos: I gotta go to the eye doctor before my Italy trip or I will run out of contacts. Would not be fun to wear glasses the whole time I’m in sexy, sexy Italy. I also gotta get my car inspected as the registration for 2017 has run out! Oops. I also gotta finish my taxes!! Everything kinda got put on hold until the big trade show and this interview were over.

  7. Also, men have been put on hold, but I can now un-hold them! Hooray! Bachelor Party Marty sent me an email early today, which I answered many hours later. He wants me to come over to see his new house....and more likely, his large package. I’m thisclose to being ready to hang with the guy.

  8. I desperately need to clean my entire apartment.

  9. But I’m so tired and it’s a beautiful day outside.

  10. I love weekends.
