The stress levels at work are off the charts. I have no fewer than FOUR highly diva-like personalities I’m dealing with on a daily basis, and all of their crises have to get resolved in the next month. These alone are like four full time jobs in addition to the regular projects I manage. This is also in addition to the other personalities - Boss, Negative C, and a fairly new player (to me), Bumbling J. Bumbling J literally just came by my office telling me about something he just fucked up…on MY watch. By the way, Boss wants to fire Negative C because he can’t stand her anymore and she has no fucking clue. Thing is, he will have fired my TWO product managers and this will leave me with only assistants who can’t do the things that PMs do. I’m drowning.

Tonight I’m meeting with a guy I’ll call The Hammer (because that’s the nickname that everyone uses for him). He’s sort of a friend in that I met him years ago through a mutual friend and we hit it off, but he’s also going to talk to me about a business opportunity that may or may not have legs. From our phone conversation, I’m not super excited about it, but from a realistic standpoint, I do want to hear him out. This could lead to something interesting - you just never know.

I’m going to see Lovely tomorrow. I told her I’d either bring her and her husband lunch or I’d take them out…whatever they feel like doing. Reality of her daughter’s death is setting in…I can tell by the tone of her texts. I’m still so utterly sad.

Had an amazing evening last night. Remember the Opera Singer? He came back to town to do a private performance at some ritzy folk’s home in the ritzy part of town. This is all in support of our city’s opera as well as an outreach program. It was a wonderful cocktail party, complete with cocktail attire - and I even had a couple of diet-compliant glasses of wine. [Side Note: I’ve been doing great with my diet and have lost a few pounds - yay!] The struggle came when I was invited to something of an “after party”. I was offered a drink by the host and the opera singer so I asked for club soda - but they refused to let me order that, so I was given another glass of champagne! I could have refused, but WTF. I didn’t want to be rude. I just thought that it wasn’t particularly cool of those dudes to overrule my request. I was also left at the end of the event with the Opera Singer and he tried to get dirty with me until I decided it was time to go. He walked me out to the valet stand and when my car showed up, he kissed me goodbye and stuck his tongue in my mouth. Not super pleased with that, but hey…I can now say I’ve had an opera singer’s tongue in my mouth.

Have a coffee date lined up for Sunday morning, early. I’m looking forward to it. Have already stalked the dude. I’m not going to divulge details at this time, but let’s just say he’s incredibly interesting to me and he’s had a lot of stuff written about him. So has his ex-wife. Very accomplished people. We’ll see…
Happy Friday!
