And now we’re back to work, back to clean living, back to reality!
Day 2 back to work and it’s actually going decently - about as expected - super busy day yesterday with meetings practically every hour, and today is busy with presentations to give to a visiting licensor. I’m prepping my brain to discuss business with some difficult people, so here we go…
Boss is sick today, and he’s working from home. Doesn’t stop him from sending endless emails about every little tiny thing I’m working on. It’s all good…I have an answer for everything. It’s just a little annoying having to go back and revisit everything over and over because he’s missing meetings in the office.
Seriously, Boss has no faith. I had a brief discussion about this with one of my new team members (a dude that Boss brought in a couple of months ago). Unprompted, he said that Boss sends the same frantic emails to him too, so guess what? The guy doesn’t trust anyone, let alone me. In other words, it’s not me, it’s him. What a relief. I’ll live.
So. I have a few minutes until I need to go to this meeting, I have an update on my living situation. I found out something over the holidays that changes things a little. My lease is not up until April! That’s right. I’ve been stalking this apartment and mentally prepping myself to move in February when I actually have two more months to work out my living situation.
I guess that’s good though. I may keep looking further and wider and think about this condo/purchasing situation a little more.
And wow. The parties have finally ended. Last week was really wild. I wrote about the Champagne Bash (previous entry), but the next night was [Athena]’s Birthday Bash, which was awesome and where I had a major hair of the dog situation going with the bubbly, and the NEXT night was New Year’s Eve, where I drank even more champers, and the NEXT day was New Year’s Day, where I attended a Soup Party and tended to my multiple hangovers with soup washed down with a side of champagne!
Lord.
Anyway, I’m happy that the new year has begun so I can buckle down and move forward with my plans for a new and better year.
Yeah, 2016 was a weird year. Some of it decent (remember the Champagne Campaign…making out with the football captain, etc?), some of it downright shocking (Trump, the deaths of all of my teen idols), but I’m ready to move into 2017 with fresh new eyes and a fresh start and very good intentions.
I gotta roll because work meetings, but there’s more to write that I just remembered…I just can’t right now!
Until later…
xox,
GS
