Life just punched Mr. Casto in the stomach a lot harder than it's ever punched me. He told us a while ago during jazz band, very casually, that he was expecting his first child in a couple of months. We all kind of grinned at each other because of how Mr. Casto of him it was to be mentioning it then for the first time. Half of us didn't even know he was married. The baby was born last week, and it died in the hospital. Mr. Thomas sent an email to my mom, who sent an email to the marching band and jazz band kids.
Again, this is one of those things that puts things into perspective. Mr. Casto had a little son, for a couple of days, and now he doesn't anymore.
I thought it was worth mentioning.
