Slightly Counter Culture in Everyday Ramblings

This is an interesting shot that highlights what a workable historic district designation can have on a neighborhood. Both the house on the left and right were built in the late 1800’s. The rental condos in the back were built maybe 10 years ago. The windows on the older houses have been replaced or updated.

The difference in age is a little more evident in the design of the street side. There are garages under the first level units. The older places don’t have their barns intact and they may have stabled their horses nearby.

I had a crazy schedule yesterday with three back-to-back meetings and two of them were up on “the hill”. I got 75 floors in on my Fitbit just getting to them. And then I needed to go to the grocery.

By the time I got home I was zonked. Kes used that word at dinner last night and a number of her friends didn’t know the word.

What word would you use instead of zonked? Extremely tired, with a slightly, umm, counter culture inflection…

Speaking of Kes, she had her second cataract surgery yesterday. She is happy to have them both done, though there was a little discomfort and a confusing array of drops.

What a gift to those of us that have access to these surgeries! We were talking about the colors of the sunset at the beach before the surgeries, what she was seeing and what I was.

Monday was the last class of my yoga in the formal Fall Session of Adult Ed at the church and I had 17 students! Wowza. It was fun; there was much laughter as we worked on our core areas.

Now all I need to do is figure out how not to eat everything in sight when I get home after a peak experience like that.

Oh yeah.

Spent. Or possibly sapped. Or knackered, for a little Brit speak.

Really, you mean to say these people did not know the meaning of zonked? I bet they all knew Susan B. Anthony personally.
