Feeling a little bit better today, even though it’s Monday. Getting over the shock and awe of yesterday’s discovery. If you don’t know, go back one entry.

Went to the opera yesterday with my friend Cindy. We haven’t seen each other in a good, long while, so seeing a matinee with her was super fun. It was great to see her, but i hate to say it, the opera we saw was kind of boring. She and I both found ourselves alternately closing our eyes and then giggling about quirky things going on with the characters. It was actually quite soothing to laugh with her…good medicine.

And then we had dinner together at a wonderful restaurant just a few steps from the opera house. Champagne and seafood for us. We even split a little order of French fries and they were absolutely perfect since I’m majorly cutting back on my calorie intake, the meal was a splurge, but so worth it.

We laughed and laughed and talked about boys (remember the hot opera singer I met a while back?) and even made plans for another girl date in a couple of weeks. So nice to have that to look forward to instead of covering my head with my comforter all weekend.

I did have a case of the Mondays today and found it very hard to get into work. Had a meeting with my icky boss today as well as a young guy he’s brought in to be a counterpart of mine. It’s creepy. You can tell that Boss wants competition among the ranks and I feel insulted and manipulated.

Yet, I continue to play the game. Ick. I really do feel like I’m in a bad relationship.

Anyway, here I am back in my bed and ready to call it quits on today. I do feel accomplished in that I worked out hard this morning, at really, really well, and then made it to the barre class tonight for a wonderful workout.

I want to write about possible new places to live, but I need to get my thoughts together before I write it all down.

OK. Eyes closing again….

xo,
