Today was an interesting day. In the morning, we worked on our Latin project again. We ended up hanging around Kevin's house for three hours or so not doing much, and then going to the mill pond with Molly's canoe to film the pirate scene. Dave, Molly and I were pirates, and we were supposed to come up to Kevin in a canoe and capture him. This was complicated by the fact that: 1. It was raining pretty hard. 2. Dave and I do not know how to canoe, and Molly only sort of does. 3. I was wearing flipflops and the shore was muddy.

So the scene ended up going something like this: Kevin stands on shore fishing. Much obscenity is heard offscreen as Molly and Dave try to manuever the canoe over to Kevin and I sit in the middle praying that we will not tip over. We come onscreen, saying "yarr, we're pirates" periodically. Kevin stands there and says "Oh no. Pirates." We bring the canoe close to the shore. I awkwardly step out of the canoe, praying that it will not tip over. I get slightly stuck in the mud. I push Kevin in the general direction of the canoe. He and I awkwardly step in. Molly and Dave paddle away, and Kevin and I pray that the canoe will not sink because there are too many people in it. In response to Paul and Dominic's exasperated looks, I shout at the camera, "We captured him! That's what that was, okay!" Oh, and we all get soaking wet, except for Paul because Dominic is holding an umbrella over him so that the camera won't get wet.

After we shot that scene, I went back to Molly's house and helped her and her dad put the canoe away, which got me a lot dirtier and wetter than I already was. Then they drove me home. After I got home, I ate some junk food because we didn't eat lunch at Kevin's house. Then for the next three hours, my mom drove me around town and I went into stores and put up posters saying that Music in the Community is giving kids free lessons. This was actually kind of fun. I also ran into like, 6 people I know. Well, one of them I only know as "That autistic kid who asks everyone he sees what kind of car they have and if they're married," but hey.

Man, I'm pretty screwed. I have a ten page research paper for 20th century due the 16th, and I haven't started it AT ALL. I also have the Latin project and a health project due at roughly the same time. Not to mention the fact that we're totally not ready for battle of the bands. It makes me stressed out. Yet I'm fucking around on the internet instead of accomplishing anything. What else is new?

Ivy said she'd call about the flute quartet, and she never did. Good. I mean, I guess it's nice to hang out with Lydia and Bonnie once in a while, but last time it was just really stressful and I didn't even like the music. And I had to work with Ivy, who is arrogant and condescending and isn't a very good musician.

So, practice for battle of the bands tomorrow night. Julian says he's working on something new. I hope we can actually do something with it.
