I lost it on the newbie yesterday. I just couldn’t hold it in any more. After I found out she’s been sitting on legal document changes (that caused five contracts to be debited from the wrong bank accounts) for over three weeks, that was the straw the broke me. And then she continued to tell me she didn’t understand what the issue was. Holy crow.....can we say ‘common sense’????
She’s on vacation this coming week and was to hand off all of her pending items to me to handle. Little did I know what I was in for. Documents that OUR MANAGER told her to do on her own last week, she didn’t do them. Said she didn’t have time. But she certainly had time to socialize with every single person that passed by her desk, time to run around the office and talk for half hour at a time to other co-workers about non work related issues. GRRRRR.
I talked to boss lady about it and she’s not impressed. But she said she would give her six months for trial instead of the normal three since she didn’t come in from a financial background. The girl has already been in this position for four months and still can’t do simple customer calculations. (I’m talking 60-9 totalling 51 remaining payments). I’m not sure two more months is going to cure that. But, boss lady knows best.
After my chat with boss lady, newbie started talking again telling me she didn’t understand the problem. I explained it two more times, getting more and more frustrated by the minute. I know I told her at one point, “You keep on, and you know I’m mad, right??” Probably the wrong thing to say, and if boss lady calls me out on the rant I pulled I would totally understand. Not my place as I’m not management.
Today’s been a lazy day. Nothing much going on. ‘R’ and I went to some open houses to look around, took a quick walk around the neighbourhood and now back home to find a movie on GooglePlay to watch.
First slow evening we’ve had in a while, and it’s going to be nice to chill a bit.
