You have those questions in your head
Deny them all you like, for they cause you dread
Sadly, your giant-sized ego won’t allow you to feel bad
even when having no answers drives you mad

What’s wrong with me?
Why am I different than those you’ve seen?
Perhaps you need to look closely
since you have no idea how self-absorbed you’ve been

I’m still letting you speculate
but that’s just as far as you can only get
You think you know me and you’re in total control
but the walls I’ve built between us now are too solid to crumble

May you be forever haunted by them
while I’m just doing what I should,
living my life and moving on

Someday soon, someone’s going to really love me for me
and you’ll be left behind,
nothing but a bad memory…
