New hair colour, new laptop in Adventures in paradise

My first entry on my new laptop! The keys feel so nice and fresh. I’m sure that’ll last maybe a month lol.
I’m still copying a lot of stuff over, so gradually getting there. It was pretty cool that as soon as I opened the Internet Explorer up (the only browser available on a new Windows machine), it offered a free upgrade to Windows 10. Woohoo! So I’m now using Windows 10 and so far it looks pretty snazzy.

I went and got my hair coloured today. It was the same lady who cut it for me last Friday, and I absolutely love how it looks now. It makes so much difference! I was afraid that she put in a few too many foils because she put like 12 in, when I thought she’d only put in maybe 8. I didn’t want it too overly blonde, but after she washed it out and blow-dried it, I ended up loving it!
Unfortunately I still can’t provide a pic because although I have my new laptop, I don’t yet have my new phone :( And I take all my pics on my phone.

I’m now worried I won’t like the new phone because apparently it’s a lot bigger than my previous one. I will just have to wait and see. It will be annoying to have a phone that is too big, but I guess I don;t really go out clubbing all too much anymore, so I won’t really need to worry about it fitting into a pocket, like I did in my early 20’s.

So I went and collected my new laptop from Big W. An elderly lady initially served me but then this REALLY cute guy took over and went and grabbed it for me (just the laptop, unfortunately) :P
His name-tag read Max.

Naturally, when I got home, I totally and creepily Facebook stalked him, in the hope it might show a result from the limited info I had on him. Turns out he doesn’t seem to have a profile, but I did find a few pics that his work had put up, which were taken in August last year, so he’s worked there for a while it seems. No link to his profile though, so he’s safe. For now. Haha I am such a stalker!
Day’Am, he was cute though!

Then I went back home to drop the laptop off, then went back out to go get some groceries. I’d written down my e-giftcard code on a piece of paper this time, since my phone keeps switching off on it’s own accord. So I scored my $70 worth of groceries for free woohoo! Probably handy given how much I’ve forked out on electronics this week.

I got paid tonight and immediately paid the highest amount I could off to the credit card, leaving enough in there for rent later in the week. If I budget well, I should be okay. Will be a tough few months.

I had a talk to Nick tonight when I was putting my groceries away. As I expected in the last entry, Andrew sent us all an email, basically blasting Nick for his behavior and that if he does it again, he’ll be out on his arse.

I feel so much better having confronted Nick. When I saw him, I just asked, “So what the hell happened on Sunday night?”
I then explained everything I went through and what I’d experienced and thought what had happened. I told him that I’d almost called the cops! “You should have!”, he replied.
I then said I was about to call him when he arrived home.

He was very honest to me and appeared to feel very bad about what happened.
He reckons when he arrived home, he only knew ONE of the people who were in our house!!!
The person he knew had took it upon himself to invite a bunch of people from the club back to our place. You know, casually. As you fucking do!
Apparently it wasn’t his friend who scaled the house to the second level and ‘broke in’ to let everyone else in, but one of the other guys. Still, he told me that his friend had apologized to him, and he said that none of those people will be invited here again. Andrew must have sent him a separate email blasting him. There’s to be no more house-parties and not even any more pre-drinks. Wow, way to be a buzzkill! Nick seemed cool about it though, so I think Andrew must have gotten to him.
I told him that I’d wanted to talk to him first, and that I’d told Alex
The kitchen was even cleaned up properly, including the rest of the glass on the stereo.

I felt so much better having spoken to Nick, and getting an apology from him. I feel like we can go back to being housemates.

The cough has been really bad again tonight. I tried the whole towel over a bowl of boiling water thing and breathed in the vapours for a while, something I should have done when I had the cold. I’m clutching at straws, what can I say? I’m currently drinking lots of water, re-watching episodes of Cucumber and Banana and playing on my exciting new laptop.

I think it's good that you had the talk with him. Young people often need to learn through experience and even though you were collateral damage in the incident, I think that it hopefully helped him.

Well that's definitely a satisfactory resolution. I'm glad Nick was decent and apologetic. What a disaster.

It's funny you mentioned the new keyboard - I recently bought a new keyboard to plug into my laptop for when I do transcription work and have been OBSESSED with the bouncy, clacky new keys.
