The reality of the hospital is setting in and it’s ok. I accept it and that makes things easier. When you new you just take it in then later digest it and figure it out on how “other” people persive you on how you work. For a while or actually a long time I said yes to everything to all the nurses. Now it’s NO and they can’t do anything about it and for some that is reallllly hard. “Well I have 6 patients” * Well I have 28 or 35 and I walk away. One is always asking me to do something. No. The other refuses to help clean a patient. No. Well I want him clean * well than you help if not it’s not going to get done. The harsh reality is the nurses who didn’t do the CNA course dosn’t help whatsoever. The ones who did do the course help. They were in the battle grounds “They Know”. The other ones take it personally when I say no. It isn’t because I don’t want to it’s because I got 30 people. You got 6. Now off to work to I go.
