And another that bugs me about Viagra commercials (I’m sure that conversation started somewhere in the last 100 entries) is “Ask your doctor if your heart is safe enough for sex.”
I know it’s embarrassing for my doctor to talk to me about health issues, like my heart, but still, I’d like to think I wouldn’t have to ask. Although sex isn’t akin to breathing, drinking or eating, as in the lack of it won’t kill you, but it’s a pretty common behavior among species that either want to survive or, like me, for instance, who are in heat year round. It also begs the question what other obvious question should I ask? Are my reflexs safe for driving? Are my social skills safe for public interactions? Are my misanthropic tendencies safe for the general public?
Perhaps my doctor hasn’t brought it up because he thinks my sex life isn’t that aerobic, e,g, “Oh, your heart should be fine for thirty seconds”. On a little bit more serious side, I think if I asked my doctor would just prescribe Viagra. He’s worried about my heart when it comes to medication that keeps me from constant pain, even though every test of my heart demonstrates it’s in good shape. So, he’d rather I were in more pain, but he’s ok with me being a walking hard on. It’s a guess. If enough people bet against it it’d be worth asking, but, like a significant good 35 to fifty percent of the men taking Viagra; it’s recreational.
How do you ask the guy on the street corner going “pssst, wanna buy some boner pills?” if your heart is safe enough for sex. Not to mention that I’m pretty normal (despite how I look in type) and the idea of dying during sex has some appeal to it. I mean if I had to pick a way to go …
I have my doubts about ED as a real problem, um, a physical one. Impotence, sure, erectile dysfunction sounds a lot more medically medical than impotence. Both have a strong psychological connection and a lot of sex is psychological anyhow, blood rushing to tumescence doesn’t really address the psychological issues, which range from severe mid life crisis to lack of desire. I think, however, if the cause were a bum ticker, a lot of guys would take the chance.
They’ve been teasing the world with a female Viagra which sounds to me like a whole lot cooler thing, but that’s probably because I’m a guy and don’t understand shit about women. Like, for instance, I don’t think a woman has ever faked it with me, though some have claimed to, I figured they were lying. See? I don’t know squat. I do know that physically lubricant does for a female what tumescence does for a male, again, not addressing the psychological. I does amuse me to imagine female Viagra commercials though.
