I knitted this hat earlier this year, so I chose it as my object because I have a more intimate knowledge of it than most other objects in this room.

It is two knitted hats sewn together at the bottom, so as to be doubly warm when worn (and also so as to provide some variety in what size is worn out and visible). Both sides are made of stripes of black and a brightly colored variegated yarn made out of sari silk that my older sister gave me back when I started knitting. The two hats only differ in that one hat has thick stripes of about an inch and a half and the other hate has thin stripes of about a quarter inch. I ran out of black yarn while knitting the first hat (the hat with the thicker stripes), and so had to sub in a slightly lighter black. It is noticeable, one of many reasons I don’t care for this side quite as much.
