I finally did it. A brand new driver’s license and the freedom it brings! And the best thing is…I think I have conquered my driving anxiety almost completely!!!

This must be a quite normal thing for most of the people, but I have suffered from the driving anxiety for the best part of my adult years. I couldn’t take the driving lessons when I turned 18 because I was so afraid I would hurt someone, or get hurt while driving. My dad and my brother paid for my driving school for the first time (some years ago), but I had to quit right after the start (the course was not refunded).

Last summer I finally got my first real job and started to make some money. I moved to my own apartment (my sanctuary) and started my independent life. Fortunately my job required me to spend almost 2 hours a day in a bus (which was hell) so a few months ago I finally faced my demons and paid for a driving school.

Now, as a proud card carrying member of the car-people, I feel finally adult (at the age of 24). And. I have not killed anybody. Which is a plus.

This, I think, also opens a new chapter in my life. I thought that starting my first online diary (book, what ever) could be the next logical step in my journey to finally understand the Adult Me.
