I have my coat and wallet. How? Someone returned them to me. I still don’t know who or how they were taken. It does seem plausible that it could have been an accident at this point considering even the cash was still there. The guy that found them in the lost and found box at his work had been trying to get in contact with me for over a day, but I hadn’t checked Facebook. The earbuds were missing but everything else was intact, so maybe they weren’t in my coat pocket like they usually are. When we met up, I tried to give him some money as thanks, but he refused. Just doing the good deed was enough for him. I used to be like that myself.
I suppose it all worked out, but the anger from all that has happened this year is still there, just passively tucked back into my bones. I still meant the things I said, and I still feel like doing any and everything it takes to become stronger and not suffer as I did this year. The coat and wallet though…I’ll keep a little faith in humanity for now. Call it karma, call it a Christmas miracle, the universe balancing things out, call it what you want. I’m still kind of dumbstruck thinking about it. What are the odds of that happening? Still, my thoughts, the existence of the less savory half of my personality, it’s all seen the light of the world outside my head, albeit briefly. It feels so weird to talk about that stuff outside of here, for years this and OD before it were the only places that I would.
I didn’t do much today. I actually was finally able to sleep for a whole night, so that was good. I went to the DMV after studying last night and this morning and was able to pass the written test. They were able to look up my Michigan license and thus I didn’t have to take the driving test, so I’m all hooked up with an Oregon license now. It only took me…seven years, haha. Did one Lyft ride on my way home after meeting up to get my stuff, I waited a while in the city but it was slow. I may go back out in a few minutes for more rides.
It’s Christmas here in an hour, maybe it is for you already. Merry Christmas, I hope it’s a good one for everyone.

I'm glad your stuff was returned to you.
Merry Christmas to you too!
