NJM15: Entry 22 in These Foolish Things

Oh yeah, another lovely weekend day. Started out REALLY cold this morning, as in nearly freezing…34 degrees. Brrrrr.

I bundled myself and the dog up and we went out for her morning break, but again, no walking until it got warmer. I screwed around online for a while, checking FB and PB and IG. And finally Gmail.

Guess who emailed me a bunch of photos? That’s right - SHIP! He sent me some things that I don’t even remember having been taken! And he sent me this awesome shot of himself and the guys on their plane going back to Jeddah. Or maybe they were already in Saudi Arabia, I don’t know why, but he didn’t have his Captain’s uni on. He’s in a plain white tee…looks hot, in more ways than one.

I’m trying to open my stupid mail, but for some reason gmail is not opening for me so I can download the photo and SHOW YOU how cute my HOT Icelandic Pilot really is!

[WAIT! I think I got it. But! I’m going to have to put it in a “friends only” entry since I don’t trust this public stuff. Nor do I 100% trust the “friends” thing since I feel like I’ve been given away before, but oh hell. Look. It started out as a fling and will probably remain that way…but if we are friends in this crazy little space, then you can see what I’m talking about in the next entry.]

Anyway, he was really adorable, apologizing for all of the “tenderness” and told me that he needed to pull himself together, so I answered back that he’ll always be an animal to me! He seemed to like my vote of confidence and ever since then it’s pretty much been bucket loads of sappy sweet, which I”m still eating up with a spoon.

By then it was almost noon, so I gathered the dog again, knowing she’d need to go out again soon, and we ran errands together until it got really warm - almost springlike! We drove around with the top down to Target and Trader Joes and had a hell of a time!

Then we went on a lovely long walk because it was just so beautiful outside. We walked to the park and around it once and then through the arts district and back through downtown over to the city center park and then to the street with all of the shopping. We stopped and chatted with several vendors who have put together this awesome holiday pop-up shop with these cute little trailer-type set-ups. And I took a bunch of photos because the day was just too nice for words.

Tonight I made the most delicious roasted beet and pear salad that I absolutely fell in love with. I will be having it again a couple more times this week. Can you believe that my fridge is almost completely stocked full of goodies? I may be a bachelor, but I get very home-centered and nest-y during the holidays.

I also bought all the fixins to make my now-kinda-famous vanilla popcorn for peeps for Christmas. I will have plenty to do over the Thanksgiving weekend! I’m really looking forward to it.

OK - I’m out of words for tonight. Go to the next entry (if you haven’t already) for your Hot Icelandic Pilot BONUS PHOTO!!!

Warm Kisses,
GS
