I went to an advisor today to figure out which major I should switch to from education. It’s still up in the air. He helped me figure out that I am much closer to graduating with a Liberal Arts degree with a minor in history than with a History degree. I’d have a lot more work ahead of me if I chose to go with History, but I’m really sick of being in school and I’m not entirely sure that a History degree is more marketable in itself than a Liberal Arts degree when my plan is to go to grad school for Library Science and eventually work in a public library. I’m not looking to do specialized library work, especially since I doubt I’d be able to get a job. It would be really awesome to be an expert in old books, but I don’t think there are a ton of job prospects in that field.
I e-mailed the school that I want to go to for graduate school to ask if it would look better if I had a history degree instead of liberal arts. We’ll see.
I’m really stressed and worried about my future. Did I just fuck things up for myself again?
I don’t know. I’ve spent too much money on school already and this is my third change of my major. Sigh.
Anyway, everyone in my household is sick and I need to get back to doing stuff.
