NJM15: Entry 9 in These Foolish Things

It’s actually Nov. 10 in China and my meeting is today. I don’t have a lot of time because I’m meeting C (my co-worker) for breakfast very early this morning and then the whirlwind of meeting prep begins. We have the morning to set up the meeting room, get the presentation printed, get our samples tagged (and the costing’s not yet finished!), get ourselves dressed and ready. Then meeting and then dinner with our customer.

We worked in the Executive Lounge at this hotel until they kicked us out at midnight. I bet P-Boss would have worked until now (6AM)…and maybe he did.

The only awesome thing that happened yesterday was after going to the office all day, I met with P-Boss in the exec. lounge where they had food and wine. I went to get some snacks every now and then, and at one point I decided to get some wine.

I had already noticed some super fucking HOT (seriously, no exaggeration) guys who looked like models hanging out and talking amongst each other at a table close to the alcohol and thought…what absolute stunning men. I wonder why they are here in Shanghai…

But I didn’t think anything of it. Just nice looking peeps.

So I walked by again at one point and as I walked past their table, one of them actually said something to me. Me?? Yeah, ME!

I turned around, knowing I looked like shit from working allllll day with jeans and basically no makeup and messy, and the most beautiful one of all asked (with a gorgeous accent) where I was from. And I said that I was from the US, and he said…“oh, I thought you were from the UK.”

So I said, “No, I’m American, sorry.”

And he was all, no no, that’s great!

Turns out, they were all pilots from Iceland. And ohhhhh did they make me melt!

But fuck, I had to get back to work! And they wanted to talk and talk and it was so awkward because P-Boss has NO sense of humor and I just knew he was getting annoyed that I kept going back to get a snack here and a glass of wine there and some water…

I hope I get to go back to the executive lounge and “work” again at some point. Alas, I don’t believe that there will be a reason or time to do that.

Still, I’m feeling my mojo wake up and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Meanwhile, duty calls. I gotta go.

Love and quickies!

You couldn't have slipped them your number? Probably married though, pilots have reputations.

I knew there was a reason I love Iceland!
