It happens in my life perioidically with me alot. For some people hardly ever. But trying to get my ducks in a row and it’s hard when working all the time and trying to juggle new things.
Spoke to my boss and she understood that I needed more time in orientation. It’s just too overwhelming at times and I never really get to grasp allllllllll the demententions I am suppose to do. We could actually use one more CNA on the floor just to do the other stuff that 2 can not do. Between answering call lights, phone calls, getting blood sugars, vitals, cleaning up shit from C - Diff, babysitting someone when their O2 is down to 60% just because they stood up. Someone just peed the bed, you need to be a “sitter” because some one is baker acted, an electric razor got lost, patient changes rooms, there is a death, fire alarms are being tested, nurse wants sugars right a way on a patient, a patient is waiting to eat but can’t till she gets her insulin. This is alllllllllll in one day. O! Don’t forget the “tellies” heart monitors. Batteries need replaced, there not hooked up properly, the patient left the room for tests or whatever and can’t get a reading they call a 1oo times and you have 5 minutes to do it. 5. Or they report you to who I don’t know but they do. By the time 7 rolls around I am so exhausted I forgot where I parked my car. Seriously.
Then there is the move. ahhhhhhhhhh. I am so ready for cookies n milk. Ya - there is a shift coming.... I can feel it.
