I don’t know WHY our ex-Prime Minister is over in the UK giving his opinion on Europeans accepting fleeing refugees. Still pissing people off and he’s not even relevant anymore. Fuck off, wanker.
Meanwhile, my state’s premier has just accepted 3,500 Syrian refugees - yay :)
It makes me think, looking at my Eurail Pass and seeing it valid in all countries except for Turkey. I wonder if that was just a recent thing. I get that Turkey is probably more middle-east, moreso than the fact it’s next to Syria. It’s not valid in Russia either, but hey as if I’d wanna go there with the way they’ve been acting toward gays. It’s just such a massive country. There must be some real beauty in so many places.
HUGE day for China today, changing their ‘One Child’ Policy to allow two children. I wouldn’t have even known about it unless I happened to turn the TV on whilst eating breakfast this morning. As soon as I heard it, my inner-monologue said, “That is huge news!”
Chinese couples can actually plan a two-kid family now!
It made me a bit sad thinking about all those couples in the years since it came into effect in 1979 who could only have the one kid (or worse, having to abort the second!), and now obviously it’d be too late for many - biological clock and all that. Anyway, good, progressive news. Will be interesting to see how it goes, population-boom-wise. They decided to change it because China has an “aging population”. Yep, that’ll do it with that law in effect for the past 36 years.
Work has been shit the past two shifts. Just staff sick and too much to do and managers away etc etc. Can only do so much with two hands.
Yesterday I accidentally filled stock that was put aside for Melbourne Cup. No-one told me about it nor was there any sign where the stock was saying it was for the event.
So I just did my usual thing, thinking nothing of it, until the Inventory Manager noticed what I was doing and informed me what it was for. LOL whoops.
So I had to find boxes and go around and put everything back in. Luckily I remembered what it all was and how much, but fuck, that could’ve been interesting come Tuesday morning when no-one could get their platters they’d ordered all because of me :P
The Inventory Manager had a go at me, which I didn’t appreciate because I’d rectified my mistake and apologized to the deli girls, and I also got up them for not putting a sign on it.
There is a sign on it now.
Actually, whilst the Melbourne Cup is on, my plane will have been in the air for about 5 hours. Woooohooo, I guess I’ll find out who won when I land for my layover.
Vish thinks that they (customs) won’t think I’m a genuine tourist if I only take carry-on luggage lol.
Looks like I may be in for a cavity search then :P
