I am beginning to hate cooking. It is the same old stuff over and over again. Chicken or hamburger fixed some way, steamed veggies, brown rice or quinoa, and a fruit. It’s the same thing over and over.

Since I also fix meals for my parents I cannot season things the way I’m used to and they don’t like some of the things my son will eat (he’s extremely picky). This usually leaves me fixing meat different ways along with all the side dishes. For example, we had pork chops, steamed veggies, and some brown rice last night. For my parents the pork chops were grilled plain and ours were marinated; the veggies were topped with a little butter while the rice was plain for my parents and seasoned for my son and I.

My son will rarely eat meat on his own so we have to bribe, beg, or threaten him (kinda). I can normally get him to eat a few bites, but he prefers the rice and veggies so I usually let him have extra servings. He’s slightly underweight so I bulk up his food when I can with extra protein powder or cheese (although he won’t eat cheese on his broccoli).

I guess I need to start meal planning since I’d like to start eating healthier.
