He has five days remaining to save our marriage.
A local dentist was hosting “Freedom Day” today and offered free dental work for military and their families. Naturally, we took advantage.
It took most of the day and, afterwards, we went to Target to get our daughters a surprise for their good behavior. He tried to convince me to buy him a white Nike hat because “I’ve been looking for one!” and I shook my head no at him. There will no extras for a long time.
Afterwards, at Home Depot, he stared longingly at the gutter systems and told me all about how he could hook a gutter up around our house, and it wouldn’t cost too much money, and it would probably be a quick little project. Again, I told him no. There will no extras for a while.
A generator he feels we need has been marked down from $500 to $350 to $300. “If it gets to $250, I’m buying it!”
No. You’re not.
While we were together, which was the bulk majority of the day, minus his little jaunts to smoke cigarettes, he made no attempt at meeting any of the three requirements I gave two days ago. I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m bluffing, and I hate that he’s going to learn how strong I am at the very moment when I walk out the door.
I hate that he’s going to lose his family because of this.
I hate that he’s going to lose his wife because of this.
I hate that our children won’t grow up with an active father because of this.
And I hate that he caused this.
Day 2, and he is no closer to saving our marriage than he was two days ago.
