Well I suppose I should write about our trip, although I’m sick so I’m not sure how much stuff I will decide to cram into one entry. We’ve been back since Tuesday morning (at like 1am) and I haven’t had a chance to sit down and write.

We left for the airport at 4am on Thursday of last week. I had only gotten two hours of sleep, since we had to pack and get things ready. I was very excited though so the two hours didn’t affect me that much! We got to the airport, boarded the plane, and chose our seats (you choose your seats on a Southwest flight). We thought we could sleep on the plane, but there were very obnoxious older people behind us and all they talked about for three hours was drinking. HOW DO YOU TALK ABOUT ALCOHOL FOR THREE HOURS.

It was really cool though because I saw the Grand Canyon from the plane! I was so excited! The landscape was just gorgeous. I just love the desert. I wish we could move there. The weather was warm and sunny and just wonderful.

Anyway, we couldn’t check into the hotel (we stayed at the Flamingo, which is in the middle of the strip) until 4ish and we got there at 7am. We had breakfast and walked around. I actually don’t really remember much of what we did that day. I know that we met up with Jacob’s friends that flew in the day before and we hung out with them for awhile.
That night I got pretty sick (IBS attack) and ended up passing out on the bathroom floor… it was not good. But I was able to sleep in and the next day I was still feeling pretty bleh but I managed. We went to Caesar’s Palace (that place is HUGE) and walked around and gambled. We gambled everyday we were there. How do you not?
We walked down the strip that night, and there are so many crazy things going on and so many people! I saw a lot of young children in Las Vegas, which I thought was pretty weird since it’s not really a kid place for various reasons.

Besides gambling, we ate lots of DELICIOUS food. Gordon Ramsay Steak was the best food I’ve ever had, EVER. I miss it. haha
We also saw a Penn & Teller show, which was probably my favorite thing we did. It was more political than I thought it would be, but it was still funny and super cool.
We went to the wax museum at the very end of the trip.
We went to the Titanic exhibit at the Luxor with my dad, which was ultra mega depressing but it was my idea. It was really cool, but they gave us a card at the beginning with a real person and at the end you had to see if they lived or died. The person they gave me was around my age, and had two children with her that were about my kids’ ages. They all died. I wanted to hug my kids and it was just… really sad. I wasn’t expecting that. The artifacts were really neat though.

We won $300! Woop.

This is a very scatterbrained entry.

We hung out at the pool one of the days. I think it was Saturday. Jacob got us drinks, and it cost $32. FOR A FREAKIN’ PINA COLADA and another drink! Crazysauce. But I enjoyed it!

We hung out with our friends, had dinner with everyone, went to my sister’s wedding, and of course, we had our wedding! Which is an interesting story.

We had an Elvis that was supposed to pick us up at a certain time and he didn’t show. We called him and it went to voicemail. We didn’t know what to do! My dad was already at the Vegas sign (we were getting married there), and there was an Elvis there doing another wedding. My dad asked him if he could do ours, and he said sure. So we get there, wait for the other people to finish, and then this Elvis married us. And he was SO nice! Sweetest dude ever.

It was a great wedding and I couldn’t have asked for anything better, or anyone better. <3

So my sister and I are both married women now. Woo!

I love that you got married at the sign! Very cool. Did you ever hear back from Elvis #1?

We did! He said he showed up late and he accidentally left his phone at a prior wedding. We were gone when he showed up. I felt bad. :(

You shouldn't feel bad - he shouldn't have been late!

I love that you got married by an Elvis! So cool! Hope you will post some pictures!! My parents took us to Vegas when I was in 8th grade, my brother was in 5th. We couldn't do anything! IDK why they didn't take us to the wax museum. We basically walked up and down the strip for four days bored out of our minds. We did see Hoover Dam though and that was cool.

We went through the Titanic exhibit at the Luxor as well. And I touched it. You know... the huge metal chunk of the exterior hull that they have on display with all the ropes around it telling people not to touch it...

Yeah, I touched it. :)

Congrats!

Interesting. When I went forever ago, there was a King Tut exhibit at the Luxor. Wonder if it's the same space? I didn't like Vegas. I'm not a gambler and I HATE cigarette smoke. Ick. I've seen P&T twice, once in Vegas and once at a casino up here. I love their act.

Ugh yes, the cigarette smoke made me sick. ;(
