Life out there? but not as we know it in Stuff

Another work-week is over. Thank God.
It was a little rougher than usual, on account of the new Assistant Manager getting on my nerves too much and not letting me do my usual work.
At least other staff damn well turned up this weekend. I made sure to let them know I was not happy having to fend on my own last weekend :P

I did get a somewhat compliment from the AM as I was about to leave today though. He asked how Investigations were going (I swear to God that’s going to be a broken-record question from him from now on ERGH) and I told him what I’d done and what was left. It’s like he doesn’t realize the actual Inventory manager is there on Sundays and I’m only there for a few hours to help him out. Yet I’m the one having questions fired at me, such as “Is a fill report done?”
My answer, “Well I only just started and Lachie does that before I even get here.”
He tottled off, looking somewhat confused at my answer.
Ergh, let the investigations go dude! Oh, before he asked about the fill report, he asks me, “Is that Investigations?”
I felt like saying, “No, it’s a fucking ham-sandwhich! What do you think it fucking is?”
^rolls eyes^
So I think I’ve established that on the days I relieve the manager, as long as the AM isn’t rostered on, I should have an easier shift. I get he wants his Investigations done, but fuck, I got other shit to complete first.

Anyway, enough ranting for now. It’s my weekend again :D No idea what to do for it, as usual. It’s cheaper to be lazy and do fuck all, but that doesn’t make for a very exciting life now does it.

It was a stunning day today, despite being stuck at work for a chunk of it in the middle there (9-2). I sat outside on my mini-break and it was just beautiful and warm. I noticed on the weather report this morning that they said it was going to be 14 - 26 today, which is just a stunning Winter’s day for Brisbane.
It did cross my mind that this time two weeks ago, it didn’t even REACH 14 degrees, so today’s minimum hadn’t matched a fortnight ago’s maximum. Craziness.

I’ve been quite excited about everything space and NASA and Pluto and Kepler 2.WhateverItIs lately. That planet looks so much creepily like Earth it’s a little scary. The fact it appears to have land and water like we do, has a similar yearly orbit and is bigger than us does make you wonder if we are alone in the universe or not.

There could be people like me, on another planet, writing in a diary like I am, wondering ‘What if?’ but probably in a language like ‘OPJGHSJHFSJFHSIJFHSJHBFJHSF’ or some weird code, and maybe they have antlers, or probes, or no brains (like Starfish) or slimy green skin. But it is so easy to just dismiss anything other than us humans and animals in that gigantic never-ending space above our heads. And I say “Above our heads’ even though that’s just my perspective as I feel we are perfectly still, but in reality we know that we tiny specks with thoughts and feelings and we are on a perfectly shaped spinning sphere (with two hemispheres) in space itself, which is enough to blow my mind as it is. And the fact that the sun does ‘rise’ or ‘set’ but it’s us who is moving while the sun sits in the one spot spitting fireballs at us to provide warmth and light. Just. Can’t even. I’m all junior-high-school cheerleader at the thought process of how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of things.
And don’t even get me started on the ‘Meaning Of Life’. Who the hell knows??

‘Space’ really is a good word for it. Never-ending space is what Space is. Just blows my mind that a spaceship like ‘New Horizons’ can travel that fast for over 9 years and still be travelling into the asteroid belt surrounding our universe.
We need oxygen to breathe and maybe another species doesn’t need that, maybe they do. Eat, breathe, sleep, pro-create, shit, cry, love, swear, play, run, feel, touch, smell, taste, see. Can they do all that? Are we alone on the third rock from the sun?
I used to love that show.

Besides me being all “What if”, I’m currently and have been counting down my favourite songs since I started charting music back in 1996 over on the music forum I’m on. I found a lot of my music from that website I posted here a while back of all the charting music on the ARIA charts since that year, and I’ve thrown in quite a few of my own that I discovered over the years up until last year. It made sense, since i grew up on watching shows like “Rage” and occasionally “Video hits” and later on channels dedicated to music like “Channel V”, “MTV” and “CMT”. So the thread for my countdown is here. I settled on 1500 songs and have probably gone through about 250ish so far, and as I reveal each set, I listen back on the song and remember how good it made me feel at the time and comparing it to now. I was such a Top-50 pop kid. I still am pretty much a pop kid. Some things don’t really change that much.

I fully believe there are other species in our universe. It's so vast they it's hard to imagine the entire thing exists just to support us.

I have to agree. I figure 'we exist. Why couldn't someone/thing else?'

It looks a lot like Earth, and yes there could be life on it...but we also don't see it being overly crowded with...STUFF,...like man made stuff, only..not ...man...you know what I mean. So it makes me wonder, if you compared the Earth time line to its time line, where it would be at, in terms of evolution of life and just how the land formations were made and when.....etc.
