My gawd, the Napa trip last weekend with my college girls was IN-SANELY spectacular! I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I/we had. From the vineyards to the Napa County Fair, from sipping champagne to scoring weed, from tears of joy to belly laughs - it was exactly what my heart and soul needed. We are some lucky women that we have each other. We are scattered near and far throughout the country, and we see each other pretty rarely, but we are bonded for sure.

I was exhausted after the weekend and going to work was not much fun on Monday. It was only made worse…much, much worse, when my boss had a closed-door meeting with me about my biggest customer. Seems they’re not happy with what we’re doing as a company, and because I’m the business unit leader, the responsibility sits squarely on my shoulders. I’m working through this mentally. I’m not sure there’s a way to recover from a blow like this.

I’m now on a plane bound for Las Vegas! Don’t remember if I wrote about this (probably not), but my company beat budget during this fiscal year and decided to “award” the sales team and also actually included the Business Unit Leaders (there are three of us who run all of the product development) in this award. That means we get to go to Vegas for a weekend before a big trade show that we have to work. We were also supposed to invite our significant others. I had originally invited the Bulldog and he had originally accepted, but, well…things got weird and although I still would have loved for him to be going with me IF THINGS WERE DIFFERENT. But they’re not different and he’s still the Bulldog and I’m still me and we want different things and he’s in a bad place and all. So I’m bringing my friend, we’ll call her Emma. We are already having a blast and we’ve only had a quickie Bloody Mary so far. We’re not sitting remotely together on the plane because I screwed up my check-in at the kiosk and it actually booted me out of a seat. So yeah, I’m on the plane, but I’m in the very back of the bus. I don’t care. Emma and I are going to have a fun, fun weekend.

I saw the Bulldog last night. He left at 3:30AM when my alarm went off so I could finish packing for this trip. Why he gotta be so good in bed?

I’m going to do my very best not to let the bad news of my customer ruin the weekend, but just one quick note: I have to get prepared to either leave the company or move to a different position. There is a perception now, and perceptions are extremely hard to change. I’m not completely torn up about it, but it’s definitely taking me out of my comfort zone.
-
Speaking of comfort zone, I’d prefer not to have to get in my swimsuit this weekend. Perhaps I’ll be a cabana girl.

There’s a guy in Vegas. He lives there part-time. I met him about 10 years ago on a girls weekend with my friend Jen. I’ve written all about him: how he got us into the clubs and VIP entry to this and that, how he introduced us to professional athletes and other famous folk, how he came to visit me in the Great Midwest (though I didn’t even remember what he looked like until I went to the airport to pick him up!!!). Anyway, I don’t know exactly what he does, but let’s just say he’s connected. I’ve contacted him to see what’s going on. I hope we get to see each other sometime over the weekend. Not for a hookup or anything, but just for some special treatment. Could be fun - the trouble kind of fun!

Still need new clothes, new makeup and a new body. And now, a new job.
-
Still gotta write about China.

I could use a random hook up. Sorta. Maybe.
