If you are looking for some background as to how I arrived at this point in life, then I will give some context later on. For now I want to right about now!
I’m thirty years old and currently at the end of three year undergraduate course, BA (hons) Health and Social Care. It’s a sociological degree, including modules focusing on mental health, poverty, housing and crime. I’m virtually finished and will be graduating in a couple of months time. However, I missed one of my exams and must sit it in a couple of weeks time. I am currently awaiting a date. I have been granted ‘special circumstances’, so it will be graded as if it was being sat on the original date for the first time. Whether I deserved to be granted special circumstances is debatable, but I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given.

It is a pre-released paper and I must select 2 questions from a total of 7. The question I am currently making notes on is: “Farkas, Anthony and Cohen (1989) suggest that there are four key values that support the recovery process for individuals with severe and enduring mental illness. What are these values and how might they be incorporated into recovery-oriented programmes in mental health services?”
