So I just met representatives from the buildings new property management. Ye olde slum lord sold the building to a reputable company. Fortunately, everything stays the same. Rent, lease…etc. I just have to sign some paperwork and a new monthly lease under their name. I’m going to set up online bill pay and sign a rent due date exemption (due on the 1st, roommate gets paid on the 3rd)
Unfortunately, they are removing the cemetery but they are only removing the headstones. They are asking all of us to draft lists of maintenance issues, safety ones first to give to their office. They are looking to fix the building and crack down on the BS here but all of the current tenants are staying. Despite the superficial improvements this place will undergo, nothing will really change.
With that being said, I still plan on moving right after the disbursement of my fall fafsa refund. It is and will always be “the rock and roll house”. I want and deserve to live somewhere nicer and with a better class of neighbors.
