The Grades Are In Monday, December 17, 2007
Let me first start off by saying how much I am enjoying school. I really feel like I belong there. I have met so many friends. I actually can't believe how many people I have met and talk to. I feel so great as I walk down the halls of the school and get stopped by fellow classmates with a quick hello or a friendly wave. It makes me feel like I belong there. I have met people from high school age to older than myself. It's been a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and a lot of work! I actually feel better about myself and feel happier. Even the people at work treat me differently. They treat me with a new kind of respect. It's so clear to me now that school is where I am happy. So on with the grades...
Writing 122: This is the course I took 7 years ago for the first time. I didn't even try in this class and passed with a 2.5 the first time. So this time, when I worked and really tried I got a 3.0. It kind of felt like slap in the face. However, most people get a 3.0 so I feel absolutely average when it comes to writing. This saddens me a bit, but it's ok. I raised the grade and that's what is important.
Math 107: I got a 4.0 in this class. Math was my absolute worst class in high school. Now that I have been going to college I realize why that is. Writing is a class that you either "have it" or you don't. Math is a class that if you study and really work at it, you can do it. You just have to study until you understand. There is only one right answer in math. Writing is more of an art. I never studied in high school. That's why I did better in the english and writing in high school. I am good at "art stuff" like music and writing. I just didn't realize until now, that I am good in math too.
Biology 145: Ahhh the basic anatomy class. This is the class that I needed a 3.5 in order to get points toward my Sonography program. I really worked hard in this class. I studied A LOT. This class was really hard. However, with my good professor I knew I had a chance. I did end up skipping my Holiday work party to study. Did it pay off? I receieved my grade via emai yesterday. I got a 3.5!
Next term is going to go a little like this: Intermediate Algebra, Basic Chemistry, Physics, and Sign language. This is going to be my hardest term. Never having taken a chemistry class in my life or a physics I could be in trouble. However, I failed Biology in high school and got a 3.5 in a college course, so there really is no stopping me.

Hey, thanks for the props! It now means more after learning you're an educated writer. I don't believe you about the writing being an art thing though. It's true to a point, but I actually started writing to impress a girl. I was crap then. I got better because I became obsessive about it. That really creeped her out. Everything's got a learning curve I guess. [empty_inbox] [p] 12/18/2007 1:14:41 AM

Yes. Weigh ins are Monday, but not everybody weighs in that day. I give everyone until Saturday to weigh in and then post the next weeks weigh in on Sunday (but people aren't actually supposed to weigh themselves until Monday. This week however, it's Friday and we still have 7 people who haven't weighed. You are actually included in that group of 7. Sorry for any confusion. [Losing.Weight] [p] 12/21/2007 4:29:12 PM
RYN: Hey Random Noter, living in Michigan I hope you like snow. Are you somewhere along the lake so you enjoy all that lake effect snow?
Congratualtions on these grades! They look fantastic!
