Hospital and School Thursday, August 23, 2007

Thursday night I went to the hospital with overwhelming adominal and back pain. It hurt worse than my gall bladder attacts. I was crying and could hardly walk. When I got to my hospital room it was about 62 degrees. I sweated through my clothes and sheets. One hour of waiting in the hospital bed I kicked my legs and moaned. 2 minutes before the doctor arrived my pain disappeared. I had passed a kidney stone. Damn that hurt. I told my cousin on the way home that now that I have had gall stones and kidney stones, I feel my body is full of stones. Into which he replied, "You're stoned."

Friday afternoon I had my top two wisdom teeth pulled. That was fun. I got to see Carmy again, so that was cool. Now I miss him. Blah. Gotta shake that out of my system.

Saturday I had a wedding to go to. Vamped up on Vicodin, I made that wedding and the reception. I had to. She's a good friend, and I needed to be there. It was a very nice wedding too. I was unsure of how much she loved this guy, but it seems that they are both very much in love. Enough said about that.

I started school today. I only had one class though. It was a biology lab. Basically all we did was talk about the course syllabus. I learned that I get to dissect a cow's eye, pigs heart, and a pigs pluck. Hmmm. Won't that be fun? Our specimen won't be in formaldehyde. We are lucky and get them straight from the slaughter house. How gross interesting is that? On the bright side of biology, my professor rocks! He got an "A+" rating on Myspace. My first class with him was great. He's funny, and made the class zoom right by. I really think I will like him.

I was late for my first class ever in my college history. Uggghhh. I was about 5 minutes late. The lane I picked for the parking ramp stopped working...completely. I sat there unable to move for about 10 minutes. I finally got my blinker on and someone let me in to get in another lane. I was so irritated. Luckily it didn't seem to upset the professor too much. I was happily relieved when another girl walked in late 15 minutes after me. Whew! I hate being late for anything. I am normally 10 minutes early.

Other than that, I have been doing good. I am very busy, but happy. I spent a weekend with my parents and that was very enjoyable. Things are good. I am happy. Monday starts the math 107 and writing 122 classes. Anyone out there consider themselves a good mechanical writer? I am good at writing, but my mechanics are bad. Anyone out there that wouldn't mind proof reading my papers feel free to speak up. If not, forever hold your peace.

Thanks for listening.

Leave a Note

Oh my - kidney stones suck! Drink lots and lots of water to help avoid them in the future. They should also be able to give you a list of food/drinks you should avoid in the future.

I think I'd rather dissect something fresh than something that has that horrible formaldehyde stench.

Yay for fun teachers!
