"REAL-LIFE SUPERHEROES" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

There are real superheroes
Watch them as they go
Pay attention to what they do,
even if it has nothing to do with you.

They don’t have to wear masks,
or costumes to keep them in disguise
Sometimes they’re the ones we (tend to) miss
Sometimes they don’t even get noticed

Who are they?
They could be anybody
This real life is nothing like movies,
so don’t expect them to be flawless and almighty.

It could be someone you know,
or strangers you’ve never met before;
an ugly face with a heart of gold
or an ordinary being with no superpower.

Whoever they are,
they can be near or far
True, genuine heroes don’t need acknowledgment
They’re happy enough to have made a good difference

So who’s your superhero?
Open your eyes and heart to know
They don’t need you to say you owe them so
Just make sure you thank them before they go…
