Settling in in Stuff

Sorry about that gross entry. Even I couldn’t believe I wrote about it. I guess it was something I hadn’t done before haha.

Work’s been good lately. I’ve been working really hard, just getting everything done and not really stopping. It’s been good to just get on a roll. Whether anyone’s noticing or not I dunno. Since I started the new role, I’ve been averaging around 25 hours a week. Did 32 this week including the Sunday, so pretty much works out around a full-time week, so yay. Already been asked if I can work Wednesday as apparently the inventory manager isn’t going to be in rolls eyes, so that’s extra hours again next week. I had to work with him today. He’s being relatively okay to me, but that still doesn’t stop me from thinking he’s lazy. I see him just chatting to the other staff a hell of a lot, and there’s nothing wrong with that but gee there’s a limit, right? I found out yesterday that apparently he’s trying to get into the Police Force. The first image that popped into my head was him scoffing down on a glazed donut in the drivers seat of the cop car :P

So yeah, I’m not there as often as he is, but I definitely feel like I’m pulling more than my share of the weight. The store manager keeps delegating me other tasks to do as well, so I have to time things right so that I get out on time. I refuse to stay a minute longer than I have to. There were three cages yesterday that Nightfill obviously just forgot to do. And I’m filling a hell of a lot of stuff that they could have easily filled, so that blame goes back on them when I come across that. So I can see where the fighting occurs between Nightfill and Inventory, as I’ve worked in both departments. It’s easy for me to find where a problem lies, because that’s what my whole job is. Nightfill have a certain amount of time to get everything filled on time, rubbish crushed and everything cleaned up. I know the nightfill manager is there until some ridiculous hour of the morning more often than not. So I’m pretty nice with what I come across. Forgetting three cages was a bit much though, not sure what the hell they were doing. These things happen though. Just makes it hard to do inventory when half the stock is still in the stockroom. I managed to fill one of them, and timed myself well enough that I completed what I had to do by knock-off time.

Point is, I’m enjoying it. Being back to working days still feels like a surreal experience for me. I never thought it would be, but still even now, four weeks in, when I leave work into the heat of that Summer sun, it hits me like a ton of bricks. To think I used to be sleeping indoors throughout that heat outside over the past six or so years, phewie!
I managed to cut myself at work today, but I can’t remember what on. It just wouldn’t stop bleeding. Amy was in charge and was really concerned for me, but I was more concentrating on getting a band-aid on it and getting back to work. She’s like, “Put some disinfectant on it,” and I was like, “No way! That’ll sting!”
I’ve never really believed in using disinfectant. It just stings and I personally don’t believe it does anything to help me. I mean, unless it’s been an open cut for a while I guess, but it was a fresh wound so I just covered it up. Have always been fine. And it wasn’t big. If it was a big wound I’d be more likely to consider it.

Tomorrow is Australia Day! It’s always been just another day for me really, but it is a public holiday, so most people have it off work. My mum sent me a text yesterday (new technology for her) asking if I was doing anything for the long weekend, but I worked Saturday and Sunday so I don’t really get one. I’m on two days off now, which is just the usual. I dunno if I’ll do anything special tomorrow. There’ll probably be fireworks on the river.

I’m watching the Australian Open. Kyrgios is swearing like a motherfucker haha. I get that he’s a good player but why do Aussie players have to be such douches? This is why I like Kokkinakis more. HE’S what Australian players should be like. Kyrgios is the last Aussie remaining after Tomic got knocked out earlier on (although his ‘douche-status’ has improved thankfully!) I believe Kylie is there today! Hope you’re enjoying it hon! :)

I asked my landlord if he’s heard anything from Kiem. He reckons we must’ve been too full-on for him during the interview because he hasn’t heard back from him. That’s a shame. Looks like we won’t be living with a 17 yo after all.

Edit: Ergh, just had to block some random first-note wanker. It’s okay to disagree with me but when you’re a tosser about it, ya get blocked! The Prosebox-narks strike again. I swear OD readers weren’t this prissy.
I know I write a lot of shit, but GOD don’t take what I write so seriously!

I never use disinfectant, either, but I make sure I rinse out a cut just to get the Bacteria out ya know? I have a cut ob my knee thst I didn't rinse, and it got infected. It was very painful and gross and took ages to heal! I wish I had stopped what I was doing to take the time to rinse it.

KissOfLife! Perpetually Plump ⋅ January 25, 2015

Yeah that's what I do - rinse and bandage it asap.

What did they say?! I've never come across such a thing!

KissOfLife! Rerrin ⋅ January 26, 2015

You've never come across an over-opinionated narky Proseboxer? Hell, they are EVERYWHERE I've noticed. I'm starting to think this site is more of a kid-friendly site than a site where I can be myself. I miss OD :(

Rerrin KissOfLife! ⋅ January 26, 2015

No, but then most, if not all my readers are from OD. That's such a shame. Maybe you could write friends only?
