I have returned with another one of these music-related entries.  I'm not going to bash today's music, as much as I want to.  I can't help it.  I just despise music of today, so much so that it is that dislike that forces me back to the tunes of yesteryear.

As I've said in my previous music-related entries, "This is where the oldies come into play".  This entry will bring us back to the year, 1973.

For this entry, I present to you this classic, originally performed by Bloodstone.

Natural High

Natural High was the first single released from Bloodstone's second album, also entitled "Natural High".  The song peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1973.

This is one of two songs by Bloodstone that I like and of those two, this is indeed my favorite.

When I listen to this song, it makes me think of how we can have feelings for someone, intense feelings at that, even if we don't every last thing about them.  Does it matter that we might not know everything about a person before we find ourselves falling in love with them?  How much do we really need to know about a person before these feelings develop and grow?  Sometimes the heart and mind may conflict with one another, but even if we can't explain the feeling in an intellectual or logical way, the heart is going to feel what it's going to feel.

I like the idea of being in love and the natural high that comes with all of those feelings and emotions.  This song brings me right back to those feelings and perhaps, at least to me, there is nothing in this world that can bring about that kind of elation, that feeling of floating in mid-air, and truly, the power of that kind of natural high.

And I'll take to the sky on a natural high

Loving you more till the day I die

Take to the sky on a natural high

Loving you more
