Enjoying life in The dotted line

Just as I was ramping up my outputs, they need to slow down againĀ šŸ˜†

All for good reasons though, respite and rejuvenation here we come!

The adventures technically started a week ago, when I left my Dad with my bro, pre-op and dashed home to unpack, repack and get a little kip before heading up to Glasgow.

It was a mega weekend! I'd not been up to my friend's house in 12 years. Not seen her or her partner for 7 years and never met their young daughter.

This is one of my gig girls. We became very tight knit in 2011 and for about 5 years a group of us lived (remotely) in each others pockets, chatting every night, sometimes through the day too, and planning mega adventures every year for the tours.

That all faded pre-pandemic as some ladies moved on to new paths of life. What remained were two very close friendships with two very different people who sadly, no longer spend time in each other's company, so I now have to see them separately.

Sat started with a 7am train ride up to Glasgow (where I picked up germs booooo), a day with the family, lots of playing with their daughter (she's a lot of fun!) then an amazing gig. The atmosphere was electric. It was the night that Scotland would play in their first world cup came in 28 years! And the show we'd gone to see was a recreation of an energy-filled, theatrical gig that I'd missed when it toured in 2009. Belinda Carlisle supported too and did a fab set - I didn't know that half of those songs were by her!

We stayed up to watch the gameĀ  (Scotland won!) and I finally went to bed after being up nearly 24 hours, with a big smile on my face and a warm, fuzzy feeling in my heart.

A busy week followed. Lots of mask wearing and coughing as I dealt with these germs. Plenty more family care conversations and lots of energy put into planning more adventures!

And now, I'm going to have a bit of down time. My brain is calmer, my days are calmer, and I'm going to enjoy that, so I won't post as often as I did last week, but I'll still be around 😊
