We were on time, but boarding had already begun. As I walked down the aisle, I couldn’t help but notice: the plane looked like a runway show. The passengers already seated—especially near the front—were dressed in designer brands, perfectly styled. It was clear that this flight to Florence had more than just ordinary travellers.
We picked up groceries before heading to our self-catering Airbnb. It’s always intriguing to browse supermarkets abroad—different products, different prices. We spent about 90 euros, and I was amazed to find bottles of Pinot Grigio for just 2.99 euros. Compared to home (£15-£20) that’s almost hard to believe.
The accommodation is cozy. Downstairs, there’s a living area and kitchen, while upstairs we have a bathroom with a shower and two bedrooms. The style feels classic, especially with those wooden features you’d expect in an Italian home.
At the accommodation, I read by the pool with a glass of Pinot Grigio, watching the sunset. Dinner was a simple charcuterie followed by melon. Showered early and flicked briefly through some Italian TV channels. The host gave us a bottle of local rose - not sure whether to drink it!
It’s so quaint that church bells mark the passing hours here. Tomorrow promises a birthday celebration with friends in the local taverna. For now, goodnight. 😴
