This is the Monthly Check In to see how I’m doing on the things I wanted to do!
(1) RESOLUTION CHECK
(A) Address and complete at least 12 things from the House List
Current: While I cannot affirmatively cross anything totally off my list… I have had “deal with plants around patio” as a subheading for a while and I did take care of those. So while it is not “resolve the invasive plants”, I’m still counting it as important and appropriate.
PAST: Rug Doctor Carpet; Phone Calls with Zero Results
PLAN: This weekend I am hoping to go to a gardening store so that I can get some gloves and some tools to try to finally take care of the rest of the plants so I can truly cross this off my list. Simultaneously as the weather improves, if I am working outside I will need to call te Stinging Insect Specialists to deal with the 5 Wasp’s Nests I’ve found so far!
(B) I will not purchase alcohol while I am working on a show
Current: Alcohol consumption was not significantly improved or decreased.
PAST: I was successful in January but failed the subsequent months.
PLAN: I am changing this one if for no other reason than it is likely I won’t be in another show for the rest of the year. Add to that the GLP1 and I should really be focusing on adding healthy things or substituting healthy things and the unhealthy should resolve itself. The GLP1 (or the new anti-depressant) leave me feeling parched all the time. As I am notoriously terrible at drinking water (truly, really bad) I should change this to “Drink at least 2 gallons of water a week.” I can accomplish that relatively easily as I have a 64 ounce mug. So if I drink four of them a week- I’ve hit my target!
(C) Record what I read and aim for 12
Current: I finished the Superman Book and intend to begin the Murakami Kafka on the Shore very soon.
PAST:
The Cottage by Sandy Rustin
Sweeney Todd by Sondheim & Wheeler based on a book by Christopher Bond
The Death and Life of Superman by Roger Stern
PLAN: I’m technically “a book behind” so either this month or next month, I’ll really need to read two books. This month is certainly possible with my free time and next month is almost certain due to airplane rides and airport waits.
(D) EARNEST ATTEMPTS AT SOCIALIZATION
RE: Now, this one wasn’t a resolution per se; but an acknowledgment of my dead, dead, dead, dead social life.
Current: I think this Shakespeare on our own thing is pretty good for my social life. Of course, that reinforces the “my only social is theater”.
PAST: Hanging out with the cast of The Cottage; Fate Core Games online with East Coast Friends; relatively social backstage with Sweeney Todd cast
PLAN: I am hoping therapy can help me overall with loneliness and social comfort and all of that; not to mention I do have a birthday this month so… arguably, I should have something bordering on social.
