I noticed you in Okay

I don't know if you've noticed anything different,

But I'm not there anymore,

I don't know if you notice anything at all

I've gone quiet and I know it's the way you want it

But I fucking notice that it's gone a little darker here

Out in the dark, that flame that we used to sit around is just a little smaller

And it doesn't feel as warm as it used to

No it feels like it's gotten colder and it feels like this fire doesn't burn so bright like it used to

And I notice every part of you not being here

Cuz it stings my skin and it freezes my fingertips when I try to reach out for you

If this is the way it's got to be

...then...

I hope that you're not alone out in the dark

That you're out in the sun and that

somebody is loving you the way that you're meant to be loved

Real and honest with a certain kind of vulnerability that speaks to you

That they're holding your beautiful heart like the life-changing gift that it is, even if it's complicated and stubborn and temperamental

That they see you for you, shy and quiet, bold and loud, all at the same time.

That they know you're anything but when you say you're fine

That they know you want to be taken care of even when you you say you don't need anything from anyone

And if I've learned anything, it's that it doesn't matter the words that I say, or the things I do, bright days turn into long, dark nights without you

I notice everything about you being gone
