Operation: Kitty Rescue Monday, July 18, 2005

So I am sitting here chatting with some guy named freakonaleash. He's asking me all kinds of questions. I can't help but wonder if he is really on a leash, so I asked him. He said, "HUH?" So yeah, this freakonaleash guy is pretty smart. He just said he kissed my inner thigh. So I IM'd him back saying, "HUH? I didn't feel anything." And I wasn't lying. I really didn't feel a thing.

I can't help but wonder, why this turns some guys on so much. To sit there and talk about sex. I will never understand it, till the day I die. (and maybe not then either) To me, it's like talking about nice hot steamy pizza, and how it tastes in your mouth... but never really actually eating any. Gets ya all worked up until you either break down and buy one, or go to bed hungry...

So today at work Stephenie came in and told Angie and I that she was having Juan take her three cats to the humane society. (they only ended up taking 2 of them) She was awfully sad, but she said she just couldn't deal with them anymore. Now that she has two kids she is tired of them leaving hair and everything else all over the babies. I kind of understand it, but in a way I don't. However, the point of the story is that she was sad. One of her cats Salevester, is the sweetest, kindest, most lovable cat anyone will ever meet. I wanted him so bad, but it was too late. He was gone. So I asked Steph is she thinks that she could get him back. She said she didn't know so she called them to ask. Then they said a few things that shocked me. Remember the cats were dropped off no more than 2 hours before.

1) NO, they do not return the animals once dropped off. 2) The person dropped them off was told that the place was full. 3) Because the person was told the place is full they Euthanise them almost immediatly. 4) Her cats maybe Euhanised already and she needs to call the main manager.

So she hangs up the phone and calls the main manager and she gets voice mail. Then she bursts out crying and explains what's going on. I jump in and say, "OH HELL NO," and then get up and grabbed my keys. I said, "Come on Steph, if your cats are still alive we are going to go take them home."

She looked at me and slowly got up. I really don't think she knew what to do. She was totally in shock. So with out waiting for the manager to call back we drove to the humane society. We got there and walked in. We explained we were there to pick up the cats and Steph explained she thought they would try to find homes for them. They just looked at her and wouldn't say anything. They wouldn't say if they were still alive or anything. So finally after explaining the whole situtation Steph finally had to come out and ask, "Are they still alive?"

When they carried the two cats out Steph and I immediatly relaxed. It was like hearing your baby first cry. They cats were scared and confused but when they saw Steph the immediatly relaxed. They let us take them home, but kept the 50 bucks they require to drop them off. She didn't care at all about the money though. She was just glad to see them alive... and frankly so was I.
